Shadow work is essential for a fully lived life.

It’s not always easy to come to terms with our shadow selves. Many people tend to repress those hidden parts of themselves to avoid having to confront anything that makes us uncomfortable. Even though the shadow still exists, it gets pushed back and forgotten.

Repressing your inner shadow can have dangerous consequences. Most often, the shadow manifests as our triggers — emotional reactions that we haven’t fully dealt with and bubble up to the surface causing us to react and make choices we often regret. It takes self-awareness, guidance, and courage to help you
face your shadow self in a healthy way.

Life is a multi-faceted experience that desires to be embraced from all angles in order to be understood and lived fully. If you continue to bury your shadow, you may feel fractured or out of alignment. This leads to the inability to experience a deeper sense of integration and wholeness. Our shadow self blocks us from acting on behalf of our own greatest good and can prevent us from reaching our true potential. When working with the shadow, you have portals to awakening that lead to greater authenticity, creativity, and emotional freedom.

You can do one, two or all three over the course of the year.

These intensives are deep dives into certain aspects of your shadow that will allow for a deeper awakening, self awareness, integration and ultimately liberation. These intensives are highly experiential and interactive in a powerful sacred container.

Relationships, which are about embracing both the good and wounded parts of another person, are designed to help us see ourselves more clearly. Being in relationship with another person shows us ourselves, enlightening us but also challenging us to accept our strengths and our flaws. Relationships are both a portal to and a mirror of our shadow self.

We all desire to love and be loved, to be accepted and to fit in. We want to be appreciated for who we are, and for others to see our uniqueness and essence of who we are. Yet this desire is deeply vulnerable and intimate. It can be terrifying, especially if we have a very unloving relationship to ourselves. In those cases we hide the judged, shamed or even despised parts of ourselves which we don’t like and we keep these parts in the shadow.

The shadow is fed through past wounds, unhealed parts of us, or through places of fear, instead of relating from our heart, soul, and self-love. The problem is that our unhealed parts get triggered by others or through the dynamics of the relationship.

Our relationships are designed to show us more about ourselves so that we can grow, evolve, share and come into more self-love and self-acceptance.

SHADOW WORK AND MONEY

Our relationship with money can either be sourced through the shadow or light. When our relationship comes from the shadow it is based on scarcity, fear, or lack and fuels our self-limiting thoughts, behaviors and actions. When it is based on light, we feel empowered, capable and abundant.  

Our relationship with money begins at a very young age and we often internalize messages from those around us that inform our journey forward. The shadow can breed contempt for those who have more, and pity for those who have less.  

This Intensive will show you that by making the shadow conscious, you can begin to realize that if you admire the successful (the golden shadow) there is something within you that has the capacity for success. If you have compassion for the less fortunate, you have the capacity to care for yourself through challenging times. What we admire in others, we possess. What we judge in others we also possess.

This is for you if.....

  • How to address limiting beliefs and stories around money. 

  • How you may self-sabotage opportunities for greater success and fulfillment  

  • How your beliefs lead to behaviors that mask and fuel your shadow. 

  • How to look at areas where you avoid financial responsibility, creating patterns that replicate the familiarity of childhood traumas and chaos.  

  • How to connect compassionately with your shadow parts that drive your fears of financial and other forms of success. 

  • How to begin to liberate yourself from the compulsive shadow patterns that keep you in a mindset of lack and shortfall.    

Shadow work is so incredibly powerful. It illuminates and awakens parts of ourselves that have been so deeply hidden out of trauma, fear, and shame. It allowed me to release years of pent up emotion and feel a greater sense of peace.

SHADOW WORK AROUND
FEAR OF CHANGE AND UNCERTAINTY

We live in uncertain, changing, and often chaotic times. Whether it is our careers, relationships, lifestyles, climate, politics, or even our emotions, everything seems to be in flux leaving it hard to stay grounded and balanced. This unease can lead us to feeling fearful, unsafe and out of control of our surroundings and our future.  

The shadow feeds off fear. Because the mind cannot tolerate uncertainty, we unconsciously make up stories. Research shows that when we feel unsettled or fearful, most of the stories we make up are intended to provide evidence to support the fear. However, if we consciously focus on things we can do to shift from fear-based consciousness to positive, pro-active or purposeful ideas and actions, the mind will seek evidence to support that instead.  
 
The shadow, once we examine it, shows us what is not working in our lives and gives us an opportunity to heal on a deeper level. Once we can address our wounds around safety, trauma, and our own internal capacity to navigate difficult times, we no longer have to be a victim of the external chaos.

  • How to begin to free yourself from the stories and patterns that feed the fear of change.  

YOUR FACILITATORS

Suzanne Hanna

Suzanne is a licensed psychotherapist, seasoned shadow coach, writer and speaker. She the founder and creator of The Wilderness Walk, an experiential hero’s journey through the fears of the subconscious mind and the pain of the wounded heart. She designed the journeys to help others integrate ALL aspects of their being, both the light and dark. Her three and nine-week journeys are changing lives all over the world and leading people on a path toward internal freedom. Suzanne co-founded the Shadow Coach Certification Program in order to create more impact and global healing. Suzanne works with courageous souls who want to embody the best versions of themselves and be a positive ripple in this world for others. She has a passion for the mountains, animals and nature. She is currently working on her first book.

George Herrick

George Herrick is co-creator of the original Wilderness Walk, and since then has been a creative contributor as well as a powerful collaborator with Suzanne. George is the founder of SoulDeep Living, a coaching process that supports people in taking courageous action toward the life that matters most to them. His classes, retreats and coaching lead others through transformational experiences and creative expression to live inspired lives. A life and recovery coach, artist, initiated shamanic practitioner and ceremonialist, George works with people who want a deeper connection to their soul and express their personal, human divinity with compassion, wisdom and a sense of service to something greater than themselves. He is the author of the best-selling book, “STONE WARRIOR; Confronting Life’s Dark Challenges with Stone Art and Meditation,” about his journey through the shadows of recovery from
cancer and addiction.
